General Terms of Use

These General Terms of Use (hereinafter, the "Terms") govern access to and use of the DocProtect service (hereinafter, the "Service"), available at docprotect.net and through native mobile applications. By accessing or using DocProtect in any form, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms in their entirety. If you do not agree, you must immediately cease all use of the Service.
1. Service provider

2. Scope and applicability
These Terms apply to all users who access the Service from anywhere in the world, whether through the web application, the iOS app or the Android app.
Users accessing the Service from the European Union benefit from all guarantees established by Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (General Data Protection Regulation — GDPR), Directive 2011/83/EU on consumer rights, and applicable national transposition laws. These Terms do not limit or override any mandatory consumer protection rights under applicable law.
3. Description of the service
DocProtect is a tool that allows users to protect images of identity documents before sharing them. The Service provides the following features:
- Redaction of sensitive data using drawing tools (brush, rectangle and eraser).
- Addition of custom watermarks with text, date and recipient.
- Conversion to black and white to reduce the risk of fraudulent reuse.
- Export of the protected image in JPEG format (quality 0.85).
4. User requirements
To use DocProtect you must be at least 16 years of age, in accordance with Article 8 of the GDPR regarding conditions applicable to a child's consent in relation to information society services. If you are under 16, you may only use the Service with verifiable consent from your parent or legal guardian.
The Service does not require registration, account creation or the provision of any personal data.
5. Permitted use
DocProtect is intended for personal and professional use in the lawful protection of documents. In line with the principle of data minimisation (Article 5(1)(c) GDPR), you may use the Service to:
- Protect your own identity documents before sharing them with third parties.
- Add watermarks that clearly identify the recipient and purpose of a copy.
- Redact personal data that is not required for the specific transaction or procedure.
- Process documents on behalf of others with their explicit authorisation.
6. Prohibited uses
The following uses of DocProtect are expressly prohibited:
- Forging, counterfeiting, altering or manipulating documents for fraudulent purposes.
- Creating false documents or modifying third-party documents without their authorisation.
- Any activity that infringes applicable law, including but not limited to identity theft, forgery or fraud.
- Attempting to extract, decompile, reverse-engineer or create derivative works of the source code for malicious purposes.
- Using the Service to circumvent legal requirements for document disclosure.
- Overloading, interfering with or disrupting the normal operation of the Service.
- Automated or systematic access to the Service (scraping, bots) without prior written authorisation.
7. Intellectual property
The source code, design, brand, logos, trademarks, texts and all other elements of DocProtect are the property of Color Vivo Internet S.L. or its respective licensors and are protected by Spanish and international intellectual and industrial property laws. All rights are reserved.
Documents processed by the user through DocProtect remain the exclusive property of the user. The Service does not acquire, claim or retain any rights whatsoever over processed images, as they never leave the user's device.
8. Data protection
DocProtect has been engineered following the principle of privacy by design and by default (Article 25 GDPR). The Service does not collect, process, store or transmit any document data or personal information derived from user documents.

9. Pricing and plans
DocProtect currently offers the following plans:
- Personal (free): Full access to all editing and protection tools. On the web, there are no usage limitations. On native mobile apps (iOS and Android), the free plan allows up to 5 exports per day, with a "Protected with DocProtect" badge applied to exported images.
- Business (coming soon): Unlimited exports, custom corporate branding on the protection seal, configurable DPO email, and full-resolution output. Pricing and availability will be announced on our website.
10. Right of withdrawal
For EU consumers who purchase a paid plan, you have the right to withdraw from the contract within 14 calendar days of purchase without giving any reason, in accordance with Directive 2011/83/EU and Spanish Royal Legislative Decree 1/2007.
To exercise the right of withdrawal, you must notify us by email at write to us via the Color Vivo contact form with a clear statement of your decision. Upon valid withdrawal, we will reimburse all payments received within 14 days using the same payment method.
If you explicitly request that the service begin during the withdrawal period and subsequently withdraw, you may be required to pay a proportionate amount for the service already provided.
11. Service availability
DocProtect is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Color Vivo Internet S.L. makes reasonable efforts to ensure continuous availability of the Service, but does not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free or secure operation.
The Service may be temporarily suspended for maintenance, updates, security patching or events of force majeure. Where practicable, we will provide advance notice of scheduled downtime.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend or discontinue the Service, in whole or in part, at any time. In the event of permanent discontinuation, existing paid subscribers will be notified at least 30 days in advance and will receive a pro-rata refund for any unused subscription period.
12. User responsibility
The user is solely responsible for:
- The documents they choose to protect and share.
- Verifying that the exported image correctly redacts the desired data before sending it to any third party.
- The lawful use of images processed with DocProtect.
- Complying with all applicable legislation concerning data protection, identity documents and document disclosure requirements in their jurisdiction.
- Maintaining the security of their own devices and browsers.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Color Vivo Internet S.L. shall not be liable for:
- Direct or indirect damages arising from the use or inability to use the Service.
- The effectiveness or completeness of the protection applied to documents — the user must always verify the result before sharing.
- Improper, unlawful or negligent use of processed documents by the user or third parties.
- Loss of data resulting from browser, operating system or device failures.
- Actions or omissions of third-party service providers (Cloudflare, Google, hosting providers).
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be lawfully excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
14. Amendments
Color Vivo Internet S.L. reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time. Changes will be published on this page with an updated revision date. For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify users (e.g., via a notice on the website).
Continued use of the Service after the publication of amended Terms constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree with the changes, you must stop using the Service.
15. Dispute resolution
In the event of a dispute arising from or in connection with these Terms, the parties agree first to attempt resolution in good faith through direct communication.

16. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Kingdom of Spain.
For the resolution of any dispute, the parties submit to the courts and tribunals of Madrid, Spain, expressly waiving any other jurisdiction that may apply.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, EU consumers may bring proceedings in the courts of their country of habitual residence, in accordance with Article 18 of Regulation (EU) No 1215/2012 (Brussels I Recast). Nothing in this clause limits consumer rights under mandatory national or EU law.
